5) If the correlation coefficient of the relationship between class attendance and final grade in a class is +0.81, that means that:

1. there is no relationship between going to class and the final grade.
2. going to class makes people get better grades.
3. the lower the class attendance, the lower the final grade in the class.
4. the less people attend class, the higher the final grade in the class.

In a positive correlation, this means that as one variable increases or decreases, the corresponding variable also increases or decreases.  In this case, the only answer that works in such a way is this one.
